Dawlish Countryside Park is open!

Wednesday, October 4, 2017

Dawlish Countryside Park is now open for families and dogs to roam and run. You can find it at EX7 0PA.

It opened with a celebration day of fun for all, including games with Devon Loves Dogs, where we were thrilled to meet so many people and their pooches.

The new 65-acre countryside park is public open space with wild countryside and walks. Jon Steward is the ranger there, who can tell you all about the history and the archaeology of the site.

The Park is home to native species including wildflower grassland, scrub, woodland and native wildlife such as cirl buntings.

It is funded by the South East Devon Habitat  Regulations Executive Committee, a partnership of Teignbridge, East Devon and Exeter Councils, set up to help protect key conservation sites at Dawlish Warren, the Exe Estuary and East Devon's Pebblebed Heaths. The site was purchased with money from developers of new housing across the three council areas.
