Evening Beaver Waggy Walk

Experience the Otter Estuary Nature Reserve as day turns to dusk on this unique wildlife-focused walk, exploring one of Devon’s most remarkable conservation success stories, beavers!

Led by Ranger Rick, this special walk will take us through the reserve as the evening settles in, looking for evidence of beaver activity and learning more about these fascinating ecosystem engineers.

As beavers are naturally illusive animals, and we want to minimise disturbance, we may not see the beavers themselves. However, they leave behind plenty of impressive evidence of their presence, from gnawed trees, dams and habitat changes. Rick will help us spot these clues while explaining the important role they play in supporting biodiversity and shaping the landscape.

This will be a small group walk limited to 1 dog per person. Expect a slower-paced, quieter walk than our usual waggy walks, with plenty of opportunities to stop, listen and observe. It is ideal for quiet dogs that are happy walking on lead and exploring at a steady pace.

  • We will meet at 6:45pm and finish around 9:30pm
  • All dogs on short leads
  • Maximum of 1 dog per person
  • Tickets are free but booking is essential
