Ludwell Valley Park is one of Exeter’s largest and most beautiful green spaces, offering around 50 hectares of rolling countryside just a mile from the city centre.
Managed by Devon Wildlife Trust, this peaceful valley combines wildflower meadows, orchards, woodland and streams, making it a fantastic destination for walkers, dog owners and wildlife lovers alike.
There are a variety of circular routes to explore, ranging from gentle strolls alongside the Northbrook stream to hillier walks leading up to Pynes Hill, where you’ll be rewarded with stunning panoramic views across Exeter and the Exe Estuary. The park also forms part of the Exeter Green Circle, allowing you to link your walk with other nearby Valley Parks.
Traditional grazing by cattle helps maintain the species-rich grasslands, so livestock may be present between April-October.
